How to click from webcams ?

How to click pictures and process them from a webcam ? 
Any software you would like to  advice for processing of the images ?  
And any advice for setting up webcam on telescope, To get the most out of it ? ?

Rough idea would be to capture the video with sharp cap or fire capture, then process the video with registax to produce a clearer image from the individual frames in the video.

All these programs are free and if you google them there are plenty of tutorials on the web.
