18 Minutes on the Crab

The Crab Nebula

Nothing special but my very first attempt at anything other than open clusters.

Got 6x180secs SW 80ED Pro+reducer+Hutech LP filter.....Canon 60Da 6x180secs@ISO 800

I have no real processing software yet so it's not that good, but here goes.

That is really good Mike. I'd be dead chuffed if I managed to get an image like that! I like the fact that you have managed to keep colour in the stars.

Great job considering its just 18 minutes worth! The star colour was probably helped by keeping the ISO to 800, it starts to get washed out a bit more at ISO1600. Are you going to grab anymore subs on M1, I think this could be a cracking image with more time spent

Yes I want more subs.......I did have more but I kept getting elongated stars, could'nt find the reason.

Must get the guiding set up going.
