Hi All

Imaged NGC1499 from light polluted Newton Aycliffe last night with Astrodon 5nm filter.

QSI 583 & TV 101is

3 hours in Ha   

wonder if its worth buying the 3mn filter,  any thoughts on the 3nm filter

That's looking good. I think the 3nm filter is superb - there are a few on here who have bought one in the last few months and I've not heard a single moan yet! They pull out some fantastic detail. I'd never change from a 3nm.

As you have the 5nm already then the benefits of a change would have to be more than just slightly noticeable. I haven't seen any shabby 3nm images yet. If you haven't already got an OIII filter from Astrodon then a 3nm would go well with the 5nm Ha. I'll spend your money one way or another :)

Very nice image.

I can't really go to 3nm because I image at f2.8 from time to time,
