beamer3.6m
Here are two images of the Plaides taken with the Canon 400d on 200mm explorer on HEQ5 unguided. 1 sum of 60 secs at ISO 800.The first is just processed with Noel's actions to remove light pollution.(click to enlarge)The second is with adjusted layers to bring out the nebulosity but I am not sure which I prefer.(click to enlarge)
barkis
I like the Images, with a slight preference for the first one.I know you used a reflector, but I am not sure if those diffraction spikes are genuine. In selected Images they can be an enhancement, but as personal preference regarding the Pleiades, I would rather not have them. Simply a matter of choice you understand. Not a criticism. Ron.
beamer3.6m
The defraction spikes are all genuine.I was surprised by the amount which came out on film but at least it confirms focus is good.I will usually add them in processing anyway but I am not sure how to remove them with Noel's actions. cygnusx1
Personally i like the spikes, gives it attitude! Focus is good, yes. Always nice to confirm that on a image and for 60s blimey you must have v dark skies with even some nebulosity coming through
