"discovered" a Be star !

Recommended Posts

Revisiting my 5s exp spectrogram [below] from last August and noticed a "bump" in a mag 8 field star nr V1679 Cyg and wondered if it was an H-alpha emission line ? - it was about in the right place.

Megastar only gave its GSC# but entered into Google and up came SIMBAD page listing data incl a Be star, HD# and pic which I ID as correct star !

Isn't the internet amazing but I wonder how much we initially miss from our own efforts :police:

Awesome! :) I have an interest in Be Type stars as I came across one when making Colour Magnitude Diagrams of Clusters within Canis Major. I might start some research into them next year and will add V1679 Cyg to my list. Thanks for posting it
