A number of firsts

Well tonight was a successful evening and a number of firsts for me.

Firstly it was my first night out with the Canon 400d, with the exception of a quick shot of the moon the other week.

It was also the first time I have taken prime focus shots of DSO's.

It was also the first time I had managed to get M31 in any detail.

Well here is the result.

Plus this is only one frame, how do you stack RAW files?

Congrats on the M31 its a lot harder target than people first imagine. Nice amount of detail for a first prime focus shot with a 90s exposure.

DeepSkyStacker will let you stack RAW frames

I have had a play with it and stacked in DSS a total of 6 frames amounting to an exposure of 6 min. 55 secs.

The core is overexposed, how do I combat this?
