Hi Mark.

I did use calibration frames. 25 darks, flats and bias. To be honest I'm supraise because this picture looks much better on my computer. Once I've posted here something wired happened. Now looks nasty and over processing :-/

I think that you have done very well, you have even captured a hint of the surronding outer halo. Just do not clip the background even if it means that you have a slightly patchy , noisy background, the deep space is not a black abyss.,

Very nice. The dumbell itself is very nice. See what you mean about the stars, they are a little soft. Think a flattener would def help, although sure there is some processing techniques that may help with this. Sure some of the imaging guru's could help.
