As already said, observing is better than no observing at all, but to put in in context. If you do look through a window, you may as well be looking though a £ 5 or euro in other money type eyepiece. Any glass window will still be much worse optically than the cheapest eyepiece. I must admit I never tried it except with some 10x50 bins last week for the first time. I can't say the results were stellar, and once I stepped outside the bins were that much more crisp when in focus :)
