Milky Way from Mount Kenya

Recommended Posts

If you just happen to be at the top of Mount Kenya (altitude 5000m), this is the view of the Milky Way! My son trekked to near the summit in June and took these photos whilst "stepping out of his tent for a pee". Both night images taken using a Canon Rebel T2i (550D) with a 18-55mm lens @18mm, 30s, ISO 6400. The second image is a montage of a photo taken at sunrise combined with the night shot.

The first image shows the Milky Way with along the ridge from (left to right) Kaus Australis to Rigil Kent.
