First light with 3nm Ha filter and 7nm comparison

A very small but valuable package arrived from Ian King on Tuesday. Last night I was able to give the 3nm Ha Astrodon filter it's first test.

I decided on the Soul nebula as I already had 7nm Ha data (and OIII and SII). This is the result of 13 of 16 900s subs. The last few were as it was getting misty. All images are with my Megrez72 and Atik 460EX mono CCD camera.

I am quite pleased with this as it is distinctly better than with the 7nm filter which I have included below for comparison. However it is not up to Sara's standard. She used 1800 min subs and has better skies and probably better processing skills.

This is with the 7 nm filter.

I then tried combining my previous HST version with the 3nm Ha with the following result.

and here is the original HST image for comparison.

Any comments, tips etc to improve very welcome. I will try 1800s subs next.
