Webcam filter

On holiday next week but waiting for a new uv/i r. Filter for webcam.if it doesnt come in time is it worth taking computer? Never tried webcam without a filter!! Thanks.

do you have a light pollution filter, i have heard these can work nearly as well, think you would be better with ir filter though

Thanks nightfisher. No , never needed onewhere I am.! Think i ll leave computer. Practice drawing again, alwaysliked it.

There are a couple of issues with IR really. The first is that it can result in images that are overexposed in red. The second is that particularly with refractors it doesn't focus in the same position as visible light. For those reasons an IR filter is probably desirable. You may get away without one in some circumstances however.
