lunator
NemoMy 1st scope was a Powerseeker 114MI still have the scope and I am making a dob mount so my 7 year old Son can use it. The EQ mount was not the best. I have to agree with the guys on the eyepieces & barlow. Antares do a very good Apo barlow (corrected for colour - no funny purple edges on the planets) . I have one and am very pleased with it. I am an orthoscopic eyepiece fan these can be picked up for £20http://www.astrobuysell.com/uk/propview.php?view=4393I have a 12.5mm ortho and it worked great with the scope.CheersIan
GazOC
Ian,Believe it or not the 'Sale Pending' in that ad is to me!!! I'm an Ortho fan as well!!I've got a 6,7,9 and now the 18. Maybe the 12 would make a nice set.Gaz

The Warthog
Almost any eyepiece will be better than the ones supplied with most beginner telescopes. I went from the supplied eps to Kellners, which are not as good as Plossls (although I can't see a lot of difference) but were still far, far better than the ones that came with my scope. You may have to get a 1.25" adapter for that scope, or you may be able to just remove the .965" adapter, depending on how it is set up. In my scope, the set screw for the eyepiece was part of the adapter, but in others it is part of the focuser tube.
