It's not a bargain, they're awful - from various reviews of them.

That is going to be real bad, guess it is a spherical mirror and a bird-jones design in the focuser.

Using the sites own advertising blurb:

"Don’t buy a pig in a poke! We would like to point out some important aspects which you should consider to be able to make the best buying decision possible."

It is a pig in a poke.

Don't like saying that as pigs aren't all that bad, sort of insulting to pigs.

Very true. A lot will depend on the mount too I imagine... just hopes it doesn't have the Argos effect of putting people off instead.

Not great telescopes but they make good:

• water butts
  
• golf club storage
  
• umbrella storage
  
• novelty pool cue container
  
• plant pots
  
• buckets
  

probably other uses for them too.

I have never used one but they don't have a good reputation. personally, I'd stick with main brands like Skywatcher, Celestron and Orion Optics.

I must confess that one day I'd like to try one given the comments of a lot of people that presumably rely on the online reports (like me) and assume they are terrible. If there's anyone with one near Manchester/Stockport I'd be interested in a get together.

I have one, we had to make a plate to go between the primary mirror and its adjuster, to allow it to colimate.

Not actually given it a good try. Must give it a good try and then be able to report how good/bad it is.
