Wide field Pictures from Eastern Cape, South Africa

Recommended Posts

I have just returned from a Safari Holiday on the Eastern Cape of South Africa at the Shamwari Game Reserve, where the night sky was so impressive, I thought I should share a couple of images.

It was fabulous to look up and see a sky that I had never seen before, it was like being a child again, wonderful.

Both Images were taken with my Canon 6D, IMG8568 using my 24-105mm f4 L series Lens set at 24mm with an exposure of f/4 for 20sec ISO 16000 and IMG7402 was taken using a sigma 10-20mm lens set at 20mm with an exposure of F/5.6 for 15sec ISO 25600 so it captures the entire sky almost horizon to horizon.

One of the advantages of the new Canon 6D is its full frame low light capabilities and even at ISO 25600 there is very little graining.

I hope you find these images interesting,
