Making your own image intensified eyepeice

Hi folks,

I think this might interest you - Takman and I made our own image intensified eyepiecesu sing old tank gen 1 tubes from ebay (£35 each when we bought them) - actually really easy to make and work incredibly well although gen 1 tubes bit heavy so you need big solid telescopes and 2" focusers - certainly fine with Tak on EM400 or WO mount, or with my 10" Dark Star Dob or 12" Lightbridge Dob.

Total cost per image intensified eyepiece was ca. £50 - lot less than $1600 for cheapest new one available!!

I note price at Anchor gone up to £55. I assume that they have increased the price after selling a few.
