I think I have 'found' it in my 7x50's & 20x80's

Saw it in the 10x50 - a bit brighter than 5 mag and in the same field as 29 Vulpecula.

Just seen Nova Delphini. Dead obvious in 10x42 binoculars. I'm rubbish at estimating magnitudes, but I reckon it's near +5

Thanks for the headsup! My first nova . Easy find in my 10x50s, using Sagitta as a pointer. I reckoned about mag 6+, not that I've much experience at this sort of thing, plus still wisps of cloud hanging around the place.

EDIT - Actually having just had another quick look - I reckon its brighter than I first thought. 5 +?

it looked about the same as Zeta delphini to me so perhaps mag 4.5

Found fairly easily with my 8x40s - several charts on the internet showing where it is, and once you know where to look, it's pretty obvious when you see it. Around magnitude 5, I guess.

Found it eventually in my 15 x 70s, then sketched view through 7mm eyepiece in 80mm scope.

Found it holding it's brightness well over last two days in 10x50s - my estimate would be around 4.9 mag from last night. This AAVSO binocular chart will be useful, the close by 5.7 mag star will be a good indicator as it fades.

Just picked it up for the first time tonight in the 15x70s. Mag 5.0-5.1 in my estimate (difficult as the comparison stars do not readily fit into a single FOV). Quite hazy here tonight which doesn't help either. Chuffed at bagging my first nova

Just back in after 2 very brief looks - lots of high clouds with small holes - cirrocumulus? Either side of 10pm in the 10x50s. Looked comparable in brightness or a shade below that of eta Sagitta. Would estimate it's dropped below 5th mag.

It blends in more with the pretty asterism.

It's clear now 10.45 - very close in brightness to eta - not sure which side though now - hovering around 5th mag.

I've just had a look at it with my 10x50's. It looks a touch fainter than 29 Vulpec now but just a shade brighter than Eta Sagittae. That puts it around mag 5 for me.

It seems to be holding up quite well, and should be with us for a few weeks at least. Your Helios Apollo should be able to follow it down to mag 9 or 10, and after that, you could follow it with the 12" scope.

Finally got enough clear sky to look at this through my Canon 15x50. Quite easy to spot by star hopping from Delphinus. Had a go at estimating the brightness using various star charts and I think it's at 5.7 ish (I'd be interested to know if anyone else has an estimate for tonight to see how close I am!!) Anyway now the clouds are back so I think that might be it for tonight!!

With my 10x50s I put the mag. now at 5.5.

Just had another look. I put it at mag 5.8 at the moment. It is bracketed neatly by the mag 5.7 and 5.9 stars on the AAVSO chart.

Just had a look tonight - I'd say a touch above 5.8 mag. I thought that it might have faded much quicker after maximum, but would appear to be a more level decline.

It's dropped a bit tonight. In comparison to the 6.5 stars just below, I'd estimate about mag. 6.2 tonight.
