First real peak tonight! Wow!

Well, the weather finally cooperated, so I took the "new" scope out (it's a Tasco 40-114675 that I picked up for $10 at a recent garage sale) .

I only used the low power optic with the moon filter to view the moon. Conditions were perfect with low humidity. all I can say is WOW!

This photo was "borrowed" from NASA, but it sums it up best.

The mount was as shaky as I was told it would be, especially when focusing, so I'll need to try to balance it better and sturdy the mount a bit.
