I was surprised how faint this was, looks like it's going to need 20 min subs and lots of them.

And I am going to have to sort out the Ha halo problem, Finding it hard to live with now ( it spoils this image)

15 @ 10 Min's through the newt.

Halo's or no halo's, that is a great image Mike.

I am probably talking silly here, but would an anti refection coating added to the CCD cover slip nullify this reflection.

It would be worth few extra quid if it did the job.

I might look into that but the simple answer is to get a 6nm Ha filter unfortunately I run on a very tight budget one big purchase a year and this year I have built an obs.

I like your thinking. :icon_jokercolor:

Nice image despite the reflections Mike. I'm guessing that increasing the distance from camera to filter would spread out the reflection more, so if you can get enough distance the effect would be minimal. What flavour filter are you using and how far from the camera cover slip?

Sorry KK I did reply to you a few days ago but the post got lost somewhere between me hitting "post" and it arriving here on SGL. :icon_jokercolor:

I use a Astronomic 13nm Ha filter and the distance is around 35mm but i only have 10mm or so focus travel to

play with , I could probably put a 1.25" nose piece between the Cam and filter wheel but I like having everything in the imaging train screwed together rather than held together with grub screws designed to hold an eyepiece.

Martin......see above. :embarassed:
