Was talking to Mrs Imp earlier and mentioned that I was thinking of getting a new eyepiece. Mrs Imp said "Will you be able to sell your other eyepieces?" I asked her why I would want to do this. Reply "Well you can only look through one". There's no answer to this.

Metaphorically speaking - You could reply by saying that the eyepiece is a bit like a TV channel. So if the scope represents, as being, the 'TV', then each eyepiece is like switching between channels. Perhap's not a good excuse to indulge in 50+ though.

That's such a good analogy that some eyepieces are even called "TV" :D

First lesson learned there. What Mrs Imp doesn't know, Mrs Imp can't pass comment on ;) If however, you are a bit too honest (like me) and declare everything for fear of getting caught out, then the next best thing is to tell her it will only be ten quid.

I either get new stuff delivered to my work or give her indoors the price in dollars. Has worked for years

One eyepiece for everything, now there's a challenge. That would be like using one knife for eating and chopping (not a good idea!), one pair of shoes for every occasion, one handbag (presumably), only one 'outfit' etc.. The list goes on, one is never enough :).
