How much can you expect from the Philips SPC900

Grabbed this the other night M51 with an SPC 900 LX modded

25 x 60 sec lights

10 x 60s Darks

I was wondering what quality image could be achieved with far more data if any one has managed with a web cam I would be interested to hear..

Hi,

The answer is that you are already on the limit of this webcam's capability. It will do for getting your enthusiasm going but if you want to go a step further then go for a modded DSLR or a cooled CCD, you have done a great job with the spc 900, you should double the lights and take about 100 darks, and bias, it may clean things up a bit.
