Perseids meteor shower

Recommended Posts

Hi Grant,

Hope the weather on those nights is clear.

I am on holiday in Kelso in the Scottish Borders.

We are enjoying a massive thunderstorm with very heavy rain at this moment.

The parking area in front of the house is covered in water!

Trust the rain ends before the shower appears.

Cheers

Adrian

The weather has finally broken here. Loving the coolness and the downpours (and thunder/lightning). Not long now til the Perseids. Hope we have clear skies around the middle of August.

gochya again!!! Fingers crossed :) hopefully by then I'll have my hands on an astro video cam.

In my meteorscatter days June and July always produced the best radio meteors.

It was possible to combine the summertime showers with random meteors too up the chances of contacts.

Normally times between 0300utc and 0600utc were really good as there would be shower meteors plus the

random peak of daybreak, this gave lots of good meteors.

The Perseids were ok but most 'amateurs' liked to use voice but I prefered highspeed CW (morse code).
