Average Cloud Cover

I've not been able to find such data before, so thought some of you might find it interesting...

That's for the nearest location to me, which suggests that the end of April is the least cloudy time of year.

Not particularly useful, but interesting nonetheless :)

Interesting but 3 yrs is nothing in climate terms and therefore largely meaningless. My astro buddy has a continuous record for percentage clear/cloudy skies etc going back at least 30yrs so data, contrary to this report, is available

Seems that 65% is about as good as it gets for me as an average and that is at the good times, normally summer when it is light for more hours. November to March manages to get 90% cloud cover.

Yes, that's always been my view, too (As mentioned http://stargazerslounge.com/topic/172570-clouds/#entry1764375] in this post on a similar topic earlier in the year). Apart from the greater likelihood of clear weather, it's also the most pleasant time to observe: reasonable temperatures, a fairly long "night" and a good variety of targets.
