Hi from Royston (Cambridgeshire)

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I´ve just got my first scope (Explorer 130) and Celestron 15x70 binoculars.

I have no experience on this but my interest is huge.

I am currently reading the "The Backyard Astronomer's Guide" and I think it is great book for the absolute beginner.

I am also waiting for August to start my observation as I have to go to bed very early... Well, at least I get time to read and learn until we get earlier sunsets!

All the best to you all!

A warm welcome to the friendliest astro forum around. I too am eagerly awaiting August and those darker evenings. It's not that I have to go to bed early, I just like to

Best wishes and clear skies

Hi and welcome to the lounge

you are doing the right thing learning the night sky first,

it's a long process, but an enjoyable one, you will learn

a lot about this great hobby from the book you have bought,

a good choice and so is your kit, your bins will help you find your

way around, a good size but you might need a tripod as they get

quite heavy when you are observing for a long time.

Good luck and Clear Sky's
