From NZ - Orion and Sirius widefield

Last night was very clear, but with jet lag I couldn't manage to stay awake late. So here's a shot of an upside down Orion taken just after dusk. The Canon 350D on a fixed tripod, so short subs.

Bit of a mistake as I should have set the camera for F5.6, but I forgot and it used the last setting of F9. Don't do this widefield stuff with the lens on much.

22 light subs @ 20 secs, 12 dark subs @ 25 secs all at 1600 ISO.

27mm lens @ F9

Stacked in ImagesPlus and tweaked in PS. Will try again when not as jet lagged. Large star at right is Sirius, the orange bit below it is a tree.
