Canon 350D on amazon is £150. the 450D is £180 so not alot of difference if you can save up that little bit extra.

I have the 450D and cannot fault it so far. I cannot comment on the 350D as i have never seen one/used one.

Would help if we knew the budget you have to work too, and there may be better options.

Does the 350D have long exposure capability (i.e. longer than 30secs I know this is a problem with some models). Also does it have Live view?

Focus is difficulty without live view, and LX gets complicated if it can only do 30secs?

450D or 1100 are both good for this.

The 350D does not have live view. Live View started with the 450D i believe. And it is a lifesaver for focussing.

1000D has liveview and mine cost me 120 off ebay.

Also there are no Canon drivers for the 350D after windows XP. So if your OS is later it's a pain. Not sure on the 450D.

Do anything you can to bridge the gap to the 1000D or 450D

Got my 350D for £47 off ebay.

Does any length exposure you like as it has the 'Bulb' shutter option.

No live view, but at that price I'm not complaining.

Hopefully got a canon 1000d coming if I haven't been scammed need to replace the LCD screen though smashed £55 delivered fingers crossed seller seems genuine

Who needs a screen - as long as the liveview works

I won an ebay auction for a similarly priced 1000D but the seller changed their mind and refunded me.

I think its just the barrel it screws onto. As in the holder to hold a 1.25ep or a 2ep. I would get whichever you normally use. I only use 1.25eps, so i use that barrel in the scope. I do have the 2' version, but i have no idea where it is.
