first night with new finders

Recommended Posts

Last night was not great but it gave me a chance to try out the new finder set up on the dob. RDF and 102mm f6 Celestron fract with ultrascopic 35mm eyepiece.( giving approx. 3.5 degrees of sky ), in use its superb,.... red dot to find the area, every messier attempted was then in the 102mm ( the aperture over a 50mm made even the faints appear) then centre in the 102 and bobs your mothers brother in the main scope. so fast! and to have a decent widefield scope next to the f7.5 dob gives the best of both worlds.
