Meteorite shower last night?

Recommended Posts

Ah, did forget to ask last night...is there currently huge meteorite shower activity out there in the skies?

Was hunting for M51 last night, did notice loads of falling stars whizzing through my FOV when using 20mm EP. Did not notice before and those were no satellites or rocket-rubbish which are much slower.

Any ideas?

For all I know of the list in Wiki I am never sure where half the showers it mentions are coming from - never heard of more then one of the constellations.

With the number of low intensity ones around all that is needed is several bits of "gravel" to have broken off a comet and remained more or less together and we see a nice burst.
