eBay excels again!!

Hi Folks,

Doing a search on eBay for Televue, the following pops up:

A Televue 32mm Plossl appears for a meagre £162.21. Buy it now. Given that Amazon, Widescreen and Green Witch are selling the same eyepiece for a massive £120, this is some bargain!!!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TeleVue-Plossl-32-0mm-Eyepiece-EPL-32-0/400509792630?_trksid=p5197.m1992&_trkparms=aid%3D111000%26algo%3DREC.CURRENT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D14%26meid%3D8621113766595391901%26pid%3D100015%26prg%3D1006%26rk%3D1%26sd%3D400509792630%26

I like the condition of sale which states...

NOTE: In the event of any misunderstanding as to the description or this package contents, the package contents shall prevail

The seller has 64 negative feedbacks for one month.

I have never seen any seller with 559 negative feedbacks in a 12 month period.

This re-enforces the advice to check out prices, not everything on eBay is cheaper than anywhere else.

On reflection of one microsecond I will give this opportunity a miss!!!

Cheers

Adrian

They do seem to have alot of satisfied customers, but I always question sellars who don't seem to specialise in one particular product area, the item list reads like a 'well this is what we got from the warehouse bargain bin today...'

That is a silly listing and 64 negative feedback ratings in one month would be a concern, but in the context of the size of this eBay seller (64 is only 1.77% of the last months transactions) it is understandable that some transactions would result in negative feedback.

However, just another great example of why any purchase should be researched first.

one thing I would say is that if you do sell your scope on ebay advertise it with post and package, cause ive been looking for my 1st scope and was watching 3 sw 130p £179 new, 1 sold for 65 the other sold for 83 both was collection only to far for me to go, the last sold for 113 plus 20 for post so £133 I missed out on that one, I eventually got a dobsonian 150p for £85 collection only which was near me , obviously if its collection only you miss out on lots of other people bidding. and do check there feedbacks if they got bad ones something must be amiss

just re-read my post ....... "by" should have been "buy" (not once but twice)

so on that note I'll just say good bye (or should that be good bi).
