Infinity, how far is it ?

Been working on a new eyepiece projection setup and due to the weather I'm trying to get it focused using a terrestial target about a mile away. Is this far enough away to be the equivalent of targets in the sky ?

I'd say you will be ok. If focused at 1 mile, then astronomy objects would only be a 'smidge' off.

If your focuser/eyepiece holder has adjustments either way from 1 mile focus, you should be fine.

Only problem could be if you use different eyepieces that are not parfocal, and you don't have enough focus adjustment.

Can be sorted with spacers, parfocal rings, gaining a bit with collimation screws, & general tweaking of construction.

Hope you sort it, Ed.
