Telescope autofocus with DSLR

Hi, i have been thinking of if it is possible to "hijack" the focus signals from a dslr body, read them (with arduino) and control a stepper motor that i conected to a drawtube/crayford/mirror to achieve autofocus with a telescope?

I know there is a ir-diode in the dslr body that measures focus in the camera lenses that possibly make things complicated, is this idea even doable?

Regards, Daniel

But then i would need a computer ;)

It would be a nice project to try to build some kind of AF if it is possible... I love fiddeling with arduinos and when i was finished with my diy SQM i want to take it a step further :-D
