Hi There,

Warm welcome to SGL. There are a couple of books you can get to help you statthis journey, try 'turn left at orion' and 'sky & telescope pocket star atlas'. These will help guide you round the sky, then download a planetarium program, try Stellarium, its great and free. Found here :-- http://www.stellarium.org/

hi from THE Completenovice to another complete novice

Like you I'm new to all this and after just receiving my new telescope and having my first clear(ish) night last night I'm hooked!

You'll find a wealth of info on here and whenever you google a particular subject (telescope, eyepieces, etc) it always has SGL as a first result!
