WIP - Propeller Nebula

I was looking for something a bit different tonight and so got out my Cosmic Challenge book (great book ). In the monster-scope section I found Simeis 57 - the Propeller nebula and thought it was worth a go as its in a good bit of sky (Cygnus). Here's the result of the first few (7) 5 minutes subs. It made me smile I'll add some more data tomorrow and reprocess, and may well see about getting some Ha to act as luminance with this one-shot colour.

Very nice start Helen One for the list I think Can you tell me how big it is in arcmin, please - or what you focal length was so I can work it out? Is that an uncropped 460 image?

Tip to tip I think it's about 25 arcmin or thereabouts.

Hi Gina,

My book says it is 23'x4'. My FoV is approx 1.2 x 1 degrees, this would have been slightly cropped to remove stacking artifacts etc.

The image has a film like quality which I think shows the processing is spot on.
