Coma galaxy cluster

Recommended Posts

Hi,

This one is not imaged often for some reason. I think it's no less interesting than Virrgo cluster which enjoys far wider attention.

Not much of colour was used here and the focus could be better. But still some galaxies are visible here.

Thanks for looking!

Super image Mark, I don't think I've ever seen so many galaxies before in a field of view like this.

Great image, a real mind bender, just imagining the number of stars and planets in all those galaxies..... feeling very small...:smiley:

Any info? Scope location (Europe or USA), scope etc?

Indeed. I have said this before but I always feel rather humbled by what such an image represents.

Thanks everybody!

It's probably the most dense galaxy cluster.

Check out the Coma Cluster as well (Abell 1656), centred on Caldwell 35. Some great shots on that. I may have a go at that on Friday night.
