I revisited this gathering tonight to kill some time on my 12hr night shift.

Not expecting to Jupiter I took my 8 X 40's along to my high vantage point just after 10pm.

A bit hazy on the horizon but otherwise a nice clear sky.

Venus was easy but I needed the bins to initially find mercury but could see it unaided later . To my surprise Jupiter was just barely visible even in the bins.

The three are roughly in line now but too far apart to fit in the same field of view. Still pleasing to view.

Then I checked out Saturn in the south.

Took a few seconds in the twilight but eventually got it.

It's a while since I last saw 4 planets in one night. Well 5 if you count the one I was stood on! :D

Will these planets be visible to image tonight with a 300mm lens? This is the first potentially clear night I've had in about a week so would like one final chance to image them together.

Mercury and Venus continue to get higher and easier but further apart.

Jupiter requires a bit more effort and a very clear horizon. It's all but lost to twilight now and getting worse by the day.

And the lord said "let there be Tapatalk"
