Short term obsy

The roof could be turned around, but with such a short width the extra height makes quite bit of difference to the views.

I had planned on guttering it eventually, as you say this would solve any issues. Guess I should bump it up the list of prioritys.

I'm not massively happy with the roof tbh. It was from the original metal shed and its a bit on the small side, I'd like to have a bit more of an overhang. What are peoples thoughts on corrugated bitumen sheet regarding condensation etc. I probably wouldn't replace this until I move (which I've found out since starting will be in three months!!)

If you're going to be upping sticks in 3 months I would go with what you have now and just keep an eye out for any water coming in. It hopefully might be a non-issue within that time frame.

No I don't plan on changing the roof just yet but I figured if the condensation is too bad or if I have any other trouble it might be a good opportunity to replace it when I reconstruct it at the new place. Fingers crossed though, everything should be ok.

I did buy the guttering today, it wasn't very expensive and would solve any water issues whilst the roof is open/being opened. I finish work early tomorrow so I'll fit that and get on with a few other bits that need doing.

Btw the thread title is a bit misleading. I meant short term as in no concrete foundations/pier etc. and it would be built to come apart in full wall sections. I will be taking it with me to the new house. I guess a better title would have been 'flat pack obsy' :D

Got a few more bits sorted last night and today. Got the guttering done, made myself a desk and replaced the screws on the padlock with bolts along with some other bits and bobs.

i actually got to do some ap in it last night, it was great to be able to roll on the roof after getting the lights and sitting in relative warmth for the darks, and after that just lock up and go straight to bed!! :)

ive got some pics from today and some from last weekend. Note where I miscalculated my my tripod holes - always double check measurements! :D

Great progress on the build and good to hear that you were set up and working last night, with barely 3 months left to go in situ. Look forward to seeing some of the results from your session.

Thanks SnakeyJ, I can't recommend it enough. It's been good fun building it and I think it will make the hobbie so much more enjoyable and hassle free.

I haven't processed the picture yet as I didn't get a huge amount of data. I never noticed before astronomy how late it gets dark in the summer!!

Sorry to drag up this thread but I'm halfway through moving house and because I wanted to design it so I could move it I thought it might be good to to upload some pics of it in its new home.

i got a mate to help me and we got it down loaded on the van and rebuilt in a day without a hitch!

I also took a pic of my new view south, which I'm quite excited about after moving from a fairly big town! :)

Haha the thought has definitely crossed my mind! Although atm warm room isn't the best term, you can see more sky through the roof than the obsy! :) I don't know if I'd want to knock through to the obsy but there is a handy little chicken hatch at the back of the old shed I could feed some cables through, that's probably what you meant anyway. Watch this space!

well, i have purchased the obsy of Ryan and will continue the story,

after the initial problem of "my mate with as van" turning up to collect the shed with a half full van! i decided to hire a van to transport the obsy into storage,

so far i have angle grinned the door open due to the lock being broken this is now replaced, i plan to treat the wood and clad and felt the roof before it comes to rest in its new home,

ive uploaded 2 photos of where the obsy will live and the pier

work on the concrete base starts tomorrow

cheers

Gaz
