Hi Mike and welcome to SGL.

That's a nice scope and mount combo you are getting and it will give you some great views. It will also be perfect for Deep space Astrophotography if you choose to go that route later.

hi , maybe we could meet up sometime,we are oap. and live in lee-on-the-solent,we have a celestrion teliscope (refractor)we are still feeling our way round it at the moment, which as you will gather its been a bit of a problem with the weather,and now when we get a clear night we still have light polution.we observe from the back garden at the miment ,these new fanolled computer controlled things take some getting used to i used to have a reflector many years ago, with just setting circles and a hand drive, and i used ortons star atlass then, but times move on hope you have sucess, hope to here from you soon
