BBC weather forecasts clear skies from 9pm onwards in the Louth area. Wouldnt accept Asterby as a location lol.

I'll try and get over, but wont be home until 7pm ish. Could do with the skies to get some objects in Sagittarius though.

Here is a wide field shot of the Milky Way through Cygnus and it shows how good the skies are. I lost some subs due to dew on my lens. It was a great night with Messiers and Meteors enough for everyone. I also went yesterday (Saturday) and joined ELAC for some Perseid watching. 2 great night observing this weekend. I cannot recommend this site enough.

Aye, we are very lucky in Lincolnshire and having access to such a fine site with a good southern horizon is a joy.

Me and Col were talking about that. The winter skies must be awesome there, although on Friday night the wind was sweeping through there no end, so i imagine in the depths of winter you take a real beating from the wind.

I can't remember what time it cleared up, but once it cleared it stayed like that until we left at 4am... I think most that time was spent trying to spot the supernova in M74!

It was good, I enjoyed staying up till sunrise and got a glimpse of Mars just above the horizon.
