M101 widefield, taken on Astrotrac

Recommended Posts

Heres my image of the Pinwheel Galaxy from Sunday night. At just under 3 hours its the longest i've spent on any DSO!

Exposure Details:

56 180 second subs, f3.2, ISO 1600 with calibration frames.

Since i used the EF200L for this, i decided to use 3x drizzle in DSS to help bring out more detail which also crops the image as most of you will know. For some reason the stars came out very pink  anybody any ideas why this may be? I've tried to un-saturate them which kind of worked but as you can see, they are still pretty pink.

Overall i'm quite happy with what i got. Shooting from such a short FL i was not expecting to pick so much up. I am very open to any constructive critism here, the more i know the better!

Thanks for looking
