Hi, just joined and thought Id show you my efforts. Here’s a shot of Tycho and the Rupers Recta Scarp from 19th Feb. These were afocal shots taken with a canon G9 (640x480@30fps) and a C11.

Thanks, I believe folk are put off from using afocal sometimes as they think it’s not worth pursuing as the results will always be inferior? Although you will get better results with a planetary camera of some sort its still worth trying this method and seeing the results that can be achieved. Although I bought a DFK 21au618 last year if I cant be bothered sorting out the lap top/camera I will still use this method as its less of a pain setting up. I find seeing conditions, scope cool down and collimation have more of an affect on the end result than whether I use my G9 or the DFK.. :smiley:
