Today's effort. Did a little experiment taking some subs at ISO 400 as well as 200 today. After processing though I decided I preferred the ISO 200 shots. Hence this one was 80 frames at ISO 200, 1/1000th second.

Forecast is not looking too promising over the weekend but fingers crossed....

I use Registax 5.1 to stack the individual jpg frames off the DSLR. After that I loosely follow Bizibilders tutorial for processing only I use GIMP2.8 instead of PS. Depending on the quality of the stack output I will vary the process a bit, particularly the amount of levels and curves applied. I have the GIMP process typed up somewhere if it is of use to you.

Yes, I agree with Steve. I convert the RAW files to TIFF (using PIPP rather than DPP, but it amounts to the same thing), then work in TIFF, converting them to PNG for posting.

Thanks Guys, Tend to shoot raw for everything but then use Lightroom for the tiff converts. Though for my last stacking session I used manual image confirmation plus alignment / stacking in AA5. I understand where your all shooting large numbers of frames to stack - I tend to keep things about 40 frames.

Thanks again
