First try at widefield - well chuffed!

Recommended Posts

Well I know that there's trailing (no mount used), they're noisier than a Metallica concert and the focus isn't the best, but I'm frankly amazed at what can be achieved with a kit lens on a not fully dark evening. I was only out a few minutes! If anyone's got any tips for bringing down telegraph poles or even pesky satellites and aeroplanes, please let me know!

Btw, if you've CS5 then bring up your image choose lasso from the left hand side options, encircle what u want deleting & press 'shift f5' then click on 'content aware' on the box that appears & hey presto whatever u 'lassoed' is gone.

Nice - I have CS6 so I guess it'll be the same? I'll give it a go tomorrow, thanks mate :)

Yeah I think it is, its not great for removing massive objects but with smaller things such as people (& telegraph poles/wires etc  ) which is great for daytime images where you always seem to get someone wandering in frame. For the night sky it'll be perfect as the software matches what you've taken out with the background.

Nice disappearing act! Pretty impressed with that really, there's certainly no trace of you. Will definitely give this a whirl!

Posted via Tapatalk on an ageing iPhone so please excuse any erroneous spellings or accidental profanities!
