M51

I imaged M51 last night, to work out my PHD settings with my new orion mini guider and QHY5

19 x 180s, 6 x 240s ISO 800

Although this is not a bad shot, I am having some problems with processing the dark background.

Above you see a noisy black and below its more egalized.

If someone has some tips to improve that, I would be glad to hear it

If that's your first M51 it's good If I may make a constructive criticism, I think you've overstretched the histogram slightly.

Its my second M51 actually but this one is so much better then my first one.

I am not really a PS wizard, so you any constructive criticism is welcome thanks
