Hmm tht Leica zoom look pretty good too. Anyone used one of them in a telescope?

Yes - I use mine in a 7" Mak giving x150 to x300, it is comparable in sharpness and contrast to my Pentax XW's - well worth the money if you are considering buying several high cost fixed focal length eyepieces.

One eyepiece only = Leica ASPH 9-18 zoom

Agreed, although I would also seriously consider the Zeiss 6.7 to 25.1 mm.

Less FOV but bigger range of focal lengths.

You could of course use just one Nagler 31T5 and add a good range of TeleXtenders/Barlows.

Or just get a Nagler 31T5 and a good range of telescope to put it in ;)

Yep, I can verify that works (almost!)

31t5 in TV76 gives x15 with 5.3 deg fov

31t5 in OMC200 gives x129 with 0.63 deg fov!

31t5 plus Powermate in OMC200 (obviously) gives x258 with 0.31 deg fov

All bases sort of covered and the 31 nag becomes a planetary ep! :p

TV 17mm T4 Nagler with 82' AFOV & 2.28' TFOV in my scope great for DSO's and moderate mag Moon and planetary observing right to the edge! If I had to sell that then I'd choose my Pentax SMC XL10.5mm 65' AFOV & 0.68 TFOV.
