April 20th - full disc mosaic...

Hi all,

A while since I've posted. I captured enough frames to build a full disc lunar mosaic on the evening of the 20th. The build is ongoing - this is how far I've got so far. Sorry it's a bit large

Also - here's a bit of a shocker with Copernicus

Looking good so far! A friend posted me the link to the Copernicus video yesterday. I'm jealous! I almost caught one the other day, but it just missed my camera and I just got the exhaust heat haze.

What size is the smallest feature you can make out on the surface? With my webcam and 8 inch reflector, I can get craters between 1 and 2 miles in diameter.

Under good seeing I would estimate I can get down to between 0.5-0.7km (0.3-0.4 miles)

It's quite amazing what can be captured from your own garden these days! If you showed your picture to NASA in the 1960's or 1970's, they would assume you had a satellite in orbit!

Stunning work Starman and amazing to explore the high res images - thanks for posting. Might be worth trying the completed image on zoom.it - which was mentioned here earlier on today - amazingly smooth zoom and scroll through hi-res images.
