ASI120mc vs NexImage 5

After 1 year of visual observation I should like to check the astrophotography using a webcam.

I red several discussions about the above mentioned camera but I had not a clear idea of what camera is the best for a beginner.

I red also that ASI has problems with AMD based computer: based on your experience is it correct?

I would mantain my budget close to 300€ (about 390 USD) and both the above cameras are in this range.

Really I am not able to decide and I need some suggestions.

You listed the used software under the pictures.

My Laptop is an A6 and my Main machine is a 6 core AMD. I used Registax, AS2! and Photoshop.

So, now it is clear that the people talking about ASI difficulty to operate with AMD processor is wrong. Your good results demonstrated that they are talking without direct experience

There are problems in some cases with the drivers and 64bit (not had that problem myself) and also problems with USB3.

May be I could have problems with the 64bit. Not for the USB3, my PC is so old that at that time the USB3 did not exist.

I am more and more tempted to buy the ASI
