Modding a Solarmax II 60

Hello,

I was reading another post about modding out a PST to attach to a larger aperture scope, See here. And it got me thinking...has anyone replaced the focuser on a Coronado Solarmax 60? I find the focuser very difficult to handle, especially when imaging. Has anyone done this? Is it at all possible?

Good question!

Don't know....

(I went the other way and removed the front etalon of my original Solarmax 60 and remounted it on the ED80. Longer focal length, and a Crayford focuser....)

Unfortunately the latest SM60ii version just seems to have a internal etalon (similar to the PST)

May be possible to remove the Coronado helical focuser and replace with a better Borg version?
