jimmythemoonlight
hi everyone it's been a while since i've been online so please forgive my laziness. I was looking on austin finch's facebook the other day and he had a picture of mercury on it with lots of colours within it and i just wondered how and where it was taken from . A lot of things have happend since i was last on all not so good and all not so bad , the good news is that we have found a house that suit all our needs up in rainhill a lovely part of the world very quiet and very peaceful . The garden faces east which is good for looking at jupiter and the side of the house north which again is good as it's at the back and were i intend to build a observatory in good time . I would like to ask anyone the best way of building a observatory i.e. footings best practise and so on , is there such a thing as a template i can purchase to give my mate derek as he is a joiner and will be doing most of the work. I have seen a few videos on you tube but they are a bit to complicated for me to follow or i'm a bit thick , anyway some ideas from all you boffins would be very much welcome hope to hear from someone soon cheers jimmy
Pete Presland
i can not comment on austin finch's facebook images, but i would have thought a simple roll on/off roof observatory would be a fine design.have you browsed the obsy section on here?http://stargazerslounge.com/forum/61-diy-observatories/
