Are those overhead wires as "in the way" as they look?

not 100% sure exactly what you mean but not had any problems with them , i image in the back garden anyway.

they're near enough level with the back wall though, so that pigeon could drop one right in the shed if theres a light breeze in the wrong direction. luckily they're not about at night lol.

didnt bother with the bracing for the pergola, the forecast was heavy showers this evening and for the next 3/4 days so needed to get the roof on.

first the brackets, needed to make these then fit a pair so i know how much overhang on the end i have and then i can cut the front and back pieces.

one length of unistrut narrow channel.

IMAG1319_zps7a5267b2.jpg

and some fittings. the threaded bar isnt in this pic but its 12mm and 115mm long.

IMAG1322_zps90a95bbc.jpg

and all 6 assembled

IMAG1321_zpsf97c5e40.jpg

not fixed yet but this is where it'll go.

IMAG1324_zps562ed32d.jpg

and fitted. i forgot to take a pic from the outside but its fixed in place with an m10csk hexbolt from the 2nd pic above.

IMAG1326_zps1c007d76.jpg

took the brackets off to get the roof fixed down,

IMAG1327_zps84af4022.jpg

and a few more pics of the roof.

IMAG1348_zpsfae843a6.jpg

no pics whilst sticking it down, went as planned with no hassle apart from the wife moaning she didnt like it on the roof, well i needed a hand and no one else was available :evil::laugh:

first end done

IMAG1349_zps7ff11e08.jpg

never took a pic of the other end, it looks the same anyway

brushstrip seal against the facia to gether with a bit of bird poo

IMAG1350_zpsc79e14fe.jpg

brush on rear

IMAG1354_zpsd7e66014.jpg

brush on the front

IMAG1355_zps7a81cf92.jpg

and an offcut of cladding showing the front brush

IMAG1356_zps9ea3e2e0.jpg

the rubber looks a bit bumpy here although it is stuck down pretty well, this is due to using sterling board, maybe ply should have been used, but its stuck anyway, and whos going to look at it after.

a few bits to do on the front corners and the front facia, latches to fit inside and some permanent buffers.

rain forecast so i doubt a lot will get done tomorrow but overall happy the roof is more or less done now.

a very misty afternoon here so in between that coming and going the front is half done, but at least the bottom half is the easiest.

IMAG1366_zpscf9ae443.jpg

supposed to be sunny tomorrow so maybe the cladding can be finished.

Wow! I can't believe how much you have got done since the last time I looked in!!

It's coming along really well. I bet you must be chuffed with it so far. Looks like you could live in it if you wanted!

I bet you can't wait to get in and use it in earnest.

I've been following this thread for a while and I'm very impressed with the work that you have done. In some ways it will be a shame when you finish.

Mike

thanks mike.

i could always start a garden landscaping thread after.
