which eyepiece should I get

Well Guess i'll be opening this with a 8mm ep and a good filter. Then will get a 12mm and a 2x barlow in a month or so. Then the rest of eps (15,18).

Any ideas on filters? or should I even go for them?

Just use them and see what kind of magnification you want The difference between a 12 and 15 or a 15 and 18 really is rather small. Getting the full range seems a little too much. I don't use any filters, so cant tell you what you miss. If you have some good clear, dark skies without light pollution you're probably not going to need them.
