Windows 8 or not ?

Im thinking of buying a new laptop just for planetary imaging as im in need of a much bigger hard drive! What i would like to know, is anyone running windows 8 with AS!2 REGI-6 or any other software & is it compatible. There should be no problem with my camara its ok to use on windows 8 ive already checked. I would be greatfull of any feed back from you planetary guys on this topic!

Yep. it seems to work fine. The only problem that I found was with an older Hitec Astro EQDIR. The makers of the USB-to-serial chip (Prolific) are not making a Windows8 driver available as their chip has been copied by Chinese chip manufacturers. I changed to cable sourced from Dion at Astronomy Shed and it works perfectly with Win8 (and has the added bonus of always retaining the same COM port).
